Who we are

Kinara is a platform that personal trainers and gyms use to run their business — booking sessions, planning workouts, tracking progress, and billing. If you are a client, your gym or trainer invited you and decides what your training data is used for; Kinara processes it on their behalf.

What we collect

  • Account details — name, email address, phone number, and the password you set.
  • Profile details you provide — date of birth, sex, preferred training times, fitness goals, injuries or limitations, and an emergency contact.
  • Training data — scheduled and completed sessions, exercises, sets, reps, weights, session feedback, and any notes your trainer records.
  • Health-adjacent data you choose to share — how you say you are feeling in the morning check-in and before a session, and any injuries or limitations you tell us about. All of it is typed in by you or your trainer. Kinara does not read your phone's health data and does not connect to wearables or fitness trackers.
  • Billing data — invoices, payment status, and package balances. Card details go directly to Stripe; Kinara never receives or stores your full card number.
  • Usage data — app and site activity used to keep the product working and to understand which features are used.

How we use it

To run the service you signed up for: scheduling and reminders, workout planning and progression, progress tracking, billing, and support. Aggregated, de-identified data may be used to improve the product. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your data to advertise to you.

Who can see your data

If you are a client, your trainer and the owner of the gym you belong to can see your profile, training history, and billing status — that is the point of the product. Other clients cannot. If you move to a different gym, your consent and records do not automatically follow you there.

We use these providers to operate the service, and share only what each one needs:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
  • Vercel — application hosting
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Twilio — text messages
  • Resend — transactional email
  • OpenAI — generating workout and program suggestions from the training details you and your trainer provide
  • PostHog — product analytics

We also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a person or the integrity of the service.

Text messages

Phone numbers used for text messages are covered by our text messaging program disclosure. Consent is collected from the client directly, is specific to one phone number, and can be withdrawn at any time by replying STOP. Phone numbers collected for text messages are never sold or shared with third parties for their own marketing.

Keeping and deleting data

We keep your data for as long as your account is active, and afterwards only as long as needed for legitimate business or legal reasons — for example, billing records.

You can delete your account yourself. In the app, open Settings and choose Delete my account. If you cannot sign in, use kinarafit.com/account-deletion, and we will confirm it is really you before removing anything.

When a client account is deleted:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, emergency contact, goals, injury history, training preferences, notification settings and saved devices are permanently removed.
  • Records of sessions you attended and invoices or payments are kept, with your personal details removed, because your gym needs them for its own business and tax records.
  • If you signed a liability waiver, that signed waiver is kept as it was signed — including the name on it — because it is a legal document your gym relies on.
  • Your sign-in is deleted, so the account cannot be used again.

Deletion takes effect seven days after you ask, so there is time to change your mind; you are signed out immediately and cannot sign in again in the meantime. Trainer and gym owner accounts are removed by hand after we have spoken to you, because deleting them affects a gym's staff, workouts and clients as well as you. To request access to your data or a correction, email support@kinarafit.com.

Children

Kinara is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. Where a gym trains minors, an adult must set up and manage the account.

Changes and contact

Kinara is operated by Sunstar Nova, LLC, 2542 S Bascom Ave, Suite 190, Campbell, CA 95008, which is the data controller for the information described above.
